Sports across Scotland have joined forces to personally thank National Lottery players for the part they’ve played in funding grassroots sports over the past 25 years.
A number of Scottish sports have penned heartfelt open letters as part of the #BecauseYouPlay campaign to show their gratitude and let Lottery players know about the impact of the money they have raised on sporting good causes.
The National Lottery has injected more than £5.7 billion into grassroots sport across the UK since 1994, with thousands of participants in Scotland benefiting from the funding.
More than £199 million of National Lottery funding has been invested to 5,960 grassroots sports projects in Scotland.
The #BecauseYouPlay campaign also features a video of sporting heroes and grassroots sports participants joining forces to demonstrate the reach Lottery funding has across the sporting system and up and down the country.
