sportscotland kicks off Board recruitment drive

The national agency for sport has started an extensive recruitment process to find five new Board members.

We are looking for five people with a passion for sport who see the value in creating a culture where sport is a way of life, and who believe in an active Scotland where everyone benefits from physical activity.

The benefits of sport are immense. It keeps people active, supports health and wellbeing, and helps develop knowledge and skills. It also helps strengthen our communities and contributes to Scotland’s economy.

As a member of the Board you can help everyone in Scotland enjoy these benefits and have your voice heard in building sport for the future. Be part of a system which makes the best use of all Scotland’s sports facilities as well as its great outdoors and helps people to take part at whatever level they choose.

We are keen to attract applicants from a broad range of backgrounds backgrounds to make sure we have representation from across Scottish communities.

We need five people who are:

  • Enthusiastic with an interest in sport, physical activity and health
  • Committed to equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Strategic thinkers who can help impact on medium and long term outcomes

One or two of the appointments will be people with expertise and experience of governance, finance and audit.

Board members will support our Chair, Mel Young, in ensuring sport and physical activity contributes to Scottish Ministers’ ambitions for Scotland and in particular, those set out in the Active Scotland Outcomes Framework, which are underpinned by equality for all.
