Following the success of Team GB in Tokyo, we get set to do it all again with the Paralympics set to start on 25 August.
Scottish athletes on Team GB returned triumphant from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with a record medal total of 14 including 3 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze. The overall total surpassed the 13 medals won by Scottish athletes at both the London and Rio Olympic Games.
Now the Scots on ParalympicsGB have their chance to shine on the big stage. A total of 33 Scots will compete for ParalympicsGB in Tokyo.
We’re joining the National Lottery in sending good luck messages to all the athletes competing in Japan.
Since National Lottery funding for performance sport began in 1997, 864 medals have been won by Britain’s Olympians and Paralympians.
National Lottery players raise £36m every week for good causes. Since the National Lottery began in 1994, £43b has been raised for good causes, that money has supported over 635,000 projects.
How can I get involved?
Simply share your good luck message for Team GB and Paralympics GB athletes on social media using the #TNLAthletes and #MakeAmazingHappen hashtags.
