Winter Olympians out to #MakeAmazingHappen

The waiting is almost over with Beijing 2022 set to get under way on Friday 4 February!

We’re joining the National Lottery in sending good luck messages to all the Team GB athletes competing in China. You can get involved by simply sharing your good luck message for Team GB and Paralympics GB athletes on social media using the #TNLAthletes and #MakeAmazingHappen hashtags.

Team GB will consist of 50 athletes for the Games, there are 19 Scottish athletes meaning the Scots on Team GB make up 38% of the team.

Mike Whittingham, Director of High Performance, sportscotland institute of sport said: “It’s absolutely fantastic to see 19 Scots selected by Team GB for the Winter Olympics in Beijing.

“We are proud to have supported so many of these athletes on their sporting journey through National Lottery and Scottish Government investment in their sports, coaches, support staff and facilities.

“Good luck to all of the athletes, we can’t wait to see you compete and we’re sure you’ll do the country proud.”

National Lottery players raise £36m every week for good causes. Since the National Lottery began in 1994, £43b has been raised for good causes, that money has supported over 635,000 projects.

Figure skating

Natasha McKay and Lewis Gibson

Freestyle Skiing

Short Track Speed Skating
