Scottish sports clubs and physical activity groups across the country have been awarded a share of £115,000 thanks to National Lottery Awards for All Scotland,
The funding will further improve sporting opportunities in local communities. The National Lottery are awarding 22 new funding grants, through the National Lottery Community Fund in partnership with sportscotland.
Thanks to National Lottery players across the country, who raise £36 million each week for good causes, sports clubs and physical activity groups, from Aberdeenshire to Glasgow City, will be to supported in individual projects and initiatives.
Through the National Lottery Awards for All fund, we are able to see more diverse and inclusive participation opportunities created or more opportunities for people at any age to try a new sport. Groups will also be able to purchase equipment to make their sport and physical activity more accessible.

The Scottish Canoe Association were one of the organisations who received funding and are using this to support a Women's Coach/Leader development programme. Lara Cooper, from Canoe Scotland, has said, ''We have a real shortage of female coaches and leaders in Paddlesport. We would like more! Diversity makes for a better environment for everyone.
''To try to address the imbalance, we are running a Female Coach Development programme and are looking for female paddlers who are thinking about getting qualified as a coach or leader, either as a first step or to advance existing qualifications.''
The 22 sport and physical activity projects who are set to receive grants, are part of an overall 103 awards being made to voluntary and community groups in Scotland, totaling £2.2million
Announcing the funding, The National Lottery Community Fund’s Scotland Chair, Kate Still, said, “National Lottery funding continues to make amazing things happen in local communities right across Scotland.
“I am delighted that this funding is reaching across the Scotland, supporting projects that have been developed by and for local people.
