SAMEE unsung heroes at the heart of awards night

The SAMEE Recognition and Appreciation Awards took place in Glasgow recently recognising the achievements of individuals, groups and organisations across ethnically diverse communities in Scotland.

The Scottish Association of Minority Ethnic Educators (SAMEE) is a nation-wide organisation led by education professionals from ethnically diverse backgrounds. They provide a strong voice to social, educational and professional communities empowering parents to support young people, learners to progress in their education and educators to advance in their careers.

The organisation’s unsung heroes, particularly young people, parents, carers and educators who motivate social justice and challenge inequality, are at the heart of SAMEE and the awards.

Glasgow ANSAR were the winners in the Sports for All category, which was sponsored by sportscotland.
