The National Lottery is inviting distributors, projects, volunteers, fundraisers, athletes and players to make a #PlanetaryPromise on social media as part of a campaign promoting environmental good causes.
A total of £2.2 billion of funding has gone towards environmental projects in the last decade thanks to National Lottery players, and from 1-12 November people and organisations across Scotland's sporting system are being asked to make a #PlanetaryPromise on social media as part of a campaign promoting environmental causes.
The campaign originally took place in April when plenty of people and organisations made a #PlanetaryPromise, it is returning to coincide with the COP26 summit in Glasgow.
How can I get involved?
It’s easy to join in. As an orgranisation or individual think about an achievable promise you can make. It doesn’t have to be a huge commitment, it can be a small promise or something you’re already doing but haven't shouted about yet. Then post your promise on social media using the hashtags #PlanetaryPromise and #NationalLottery and tag @lottogoodcauses and @NationalLotteryGoodCauses.
Imagine A World If...
Meanwhile The National Lottery has released a powerful set of images highlighting what some famous UK landmarks and venues could look like if serious action isn't taken on environmental issues.
Model and environmentalist @daisylowe features in powerful before and after images, highlighting the impact climate change could have on landmarks around the UK. 🌎
