Scottish rugby youth players

Because you play ... rugby

As the National Lottery turns 25, Scottish Rugby says thank you

Dear National Lottery players,

As an organisation and sport that has benefited significantly from National Lottery funding over the years, we would just like to say thank you to all of the players of The National Lottery in the UK.

Since The National Lottery came to the UK in 1994, grassroots sport across the nations has benefited so much from funding that comes from your lottery ticket. Here at Scottish Rugby your contribution has helped us support players from grassroots up to international level.

Because you play, we have been able to help players progress through our FOSROC Scottish Academy and into the professional game.

Rugby clubs across Scotland have benefited from Lottery funding through the support of facility developments, performance programmes and employing coaches. Clubs from Caithness to Currie and Greenock to Gala have all benefited from National Lottery funding via sportscotland.

Coaches from all across Scotland have also benefited from National Lottery funding that has enabled them to progress with their coaching qualifications. This in turn has supported thousands of players at all levels of the game.

From everyone at Scottish Rugby, thank you. Because you play, you help us to continue to grow the game and inspire Scotland through rugby.

Thank you,

Dominic McKay

Chief operating officer, Scottish Rugby
