Because you play ... golf

As the National Lottery turns 25, Scottish Golf says thank you

Dear National Lottery players,

As we celebrate the 25th birthday of the National Lottery in the UK, Scottish Golf want to say thank you.

Because you play The National Lottery, grassroots sport and physical activity is changing the lives of many across the UK. Your involvement in The National Lottery has helped raise £30 million a week for good causes all over the country.

Here at Scottish Golf, your contribution has enabled us to provide sport and opportunities for so many people and because you play, we have been able to deliver more opportunities for people to participate in the game of golf across Scotland.

With National Lottery investment, Scottish Golf have been able to fund projects that have seen the number of women and girls playing golf increase through regional hubs, as well as children and young people being encouraged to take up the game through various grassroots initiatives.

Not only that, but we have continued to provide for young and old alike through coach development in clubs as well as regional club support through regional club development officers.

With a nation inspired by Catriona Matthew’s victory as captain of Team Europe at the Solheim Cup and Robert MacIntyre’s emphatic rise on the European Tour, your support of The National Lottery willl allow us to support others to follow in their footsteps through our Development and Performance Academies.

From the whole team at Scottish Golf, thank you. Because you play, we are able to continue making golf Scotland’s game for everyone.

Signed,

Andrew McKinlay

CEO, Scottish Golf
